You must be among our French ancestors. I wonder how the languages compare, a thousand years and a planet removed.

Perhaps I am. It would not surprise me overmuch, considering how caught up most of my family is in making a solid standing for themselves. As for the language...the root would be similar, I suppose? Context would change a great deal of meaning.
