[Gregor is sick as a dog. Apartments adjacent to his have probably heard violent, deep, chesty coughing for about two weeks now. Ordinarily, he'd have on-site approved physicians checking him out and prescribing whatever antibiotic was necessary, but here, he has to actually go seek out help. So. To the Battle Dome clinic he goes, looking specifically to see Adele LeBlanc when she's in. He will wait for her, if necessary.

Afterwards, he's going to the library, then the bakery for coffee and something sweet. Anyone stopping in can see him sitting inside, devouring a psychology textbook and sipping coffee, the cream cakes reduced to crumbs. They are the only thing he has eaten all day. He is not looking great, occasionally falling into bad coughing fits, for which he ducks outside, but recovering fairly quickly. When he heads home, he goes straight to bed despite his plans to work out. And the fact that it's the middle of the day.]

"I understand." More than just his certainty. Their frustrations were somewhat similar- even if she had no real power of her own in her world with which to compare this to. "Bed rest. Fluids. I'll find what I can for your other concern."

"Bed rest, fluids, and drug vapor. Thank you." He gives a polite nod much like a bow and turns to go.

Out of all the things to be concerned about, I don't see why waste time being worried about something that isn't a problem. Or at least something that isn't their problem.

The worst is when they ask, "When was the last time you had fun?"

Because there's only one way to have "fun", right. I have gotten those questions a lot, together with "When was the last time you were happy?"

Last time I checked smiling didn't mean one was happy right away.

If you're not divulging it to them, it means it's not happening, obviously.

'Pictures or it didn't happen'? Makes me wonder what they think the rest of the world does when they aren't looking.

In all probability, nothing. Everyone but them is a useless bore who sits on his heels. Sometimes they say things to that effect.

I was thinking that they may think that people and things only come to exist when they cross paths. But your image fits better.

The best part is that you know they will deny it all if you point out to them how they seem to think that the world and the universe revolves around them and nothing happens unless they are involved.

[Gregor doesn't often indulge in this kind of bitterness, but somehow, it's nice for someone else to be at fault, for once.]

Like I said, it wouldn't happen without them.

[Ikki isn't one to easily admit those things, anyway, and if he's pointed out to them he denies them. He never said he wasn't an hypocrite after all.]

I suppose I can accept that things would be boring at times without people like that. But just because they get lucky a few times with their ideas it doesn't make them less annoying.
